Does anyone have a good recipe for Beer Bread?

Years ago (late 70s) the mother of a friend of mine made this REALLY GOOD sour dough Beer Bread that had to have a ‘Culture’ of some kind fermented for several days before becoming one of the ingredients for the bread…NO it didn’t have to do with the one can of beer called for in the recipe.
Once all the ingredients were together I THINK the bread had to sit and ferment an addition three or so days before baking in a “tube” bread “baker” in the oven.
